Blame the Drugs

Oh wait...I don't do drugs.

What I'm about to confess will probably make some of you moan and groan and possibly end your friendship with me. I've been on the fence for a long time about the legging look. I hated it, then I liked it, then I was unsure and then I decided to go for it.

On Saturday I was out shopping with two lovely ladies: Sarah and Lauren. They don't like the legging look and that's okay, they humoured me anyway. I ended up getting this outfit for around $25. It was a steal, right?

You might as well have thrown dollar bills in the trash can, you say?

Look, I'm okay if you don't like the outfit because I am still not completely sure if I like it. I tested it out on Sunday when I was over at Jazmin's house (Edgar's sister in law). I figure it is appropriate for just hanging out on the weekend and not much more.

Here is a picture of me in my new outfit. Edgar took this blurryish, not so flattering picture...we need to work on his photography skills. Also, I think I need a pair of black leggings. I'm not sure if I am in love with the gray ones. What do you think?

Do you still want to be my friend?

It's my first time reading your blog, and I feel like I've time warped 15 years. I wore leggings like that in high school. Personally, I wouldn't go back to the days of leggings...But if you want to go there, that's fine. It's a very youthful look. :)

I am coming around to leggings, actually. I have a couple of friends (including you!) who make them look mega cute. Although, I can't say I'll be sad when the trend inevitably subsides!

    Ugh!!!
I cannot believe that you're in leggings.
    But they look really cute.

The grey is nice because it's not as "BLAM IM WEARING LEGGINGS" as the black. Does that make sense.

Well, here's my two cents, and I hope you'll still be my friend after reading this:

I think the leggings look with a long top/dress is cute, like what you're wearing. But I have read, and I think it is true, that leggings should not end at the widest part of a person's calf because it will emphasize that spot. Disclaimer: Not that I think your calf is in any way shape or form large!!! Not at all!!! You have a very cute figure, so it's not that at all. Even the skinniest person has areas that are wider than other areas. Otherwise a person would be a stick figure and not appealingly curvy.

Anyways, my point is: I think it's cute. But it'd probably be cuter if they were longer. I also think black might have looked better. That's just my opinion; I've never been a big fan of grey.

I think it looks cute on you. You also look ultra comfy. Me being a "big" girl wouldn't do it. I hide everything and wear clothes too big. I used to really love the look but couldn't do the baby doll shirts because I am freakishly tall and my waist is extended making me look prego. Oh hell no to that.

Keep the look if it makes YOU happy.

You look ultra cute and comfy -- I think you're right that it's a good weekend look. To me you look a little like you just got out of dance class and there might be a leotard under that dress and a shoe-filled dance bag lurking nearby. But I personally think that look is adorable, so it's all good. As long as you never ever wear leg warmers.

Dammit, don't make me write you off. Leggings and gauchos...both bad fashion faux pas as far as I'm concerned, but up here, there are few petite girls wearing them. Everyone wearing leggings up here is a snow cow. See definition at Urban Dictionary.

It's bad news when the flesh can visibly be seen oozing through the weave of the material.

You can keep them. Just don't wear them at my house. K?

    LOL!

I'm with the mind. But I still want to be your friend! I just canNOT get into leggings, gauchos, high-waisted jeans, or any of the other atrocious 80's flashbacks we are currently having.

However, if there was a vote on who Should wear leggings, you'd be a ....shoe-in. However...don't pay me any nevermind...did you see the dress I was wearing in my last post? What was I SMOKING?

I'm just getting comfy in gaucho's (b/c they're SO stretchy! lol), I'm not ready for leggings.

I will still be your friend. :) I'm kind of on the fence about leggings. I can't make up my mind! But if anyone can pull it off you can. :)

Alright, so YOU look hot in them, but on me? I'd look like a big whale!

I would hide from them myself (except for 80s parties, woo!) but you are workin' them, girly!

And Bah! Bloglines is being horrible and DIDN'T TELL me you were updating. I'm all out of the loop. *sniffles*

I'm not a huge leggings fan - but they are "okay" or "meh" lol

I like them with the dress (thinking I have a dress that might look cute with black ones..hmm)

Also, no to gray, yes to black. I'm not a big mottled gray fan because it seems to "gym" to me.

Very cute. A lot of the stylish girls at my office wear these and I think they look adorable, like you. I'm just not brave enough to do it myself!
